London and house. The city and the sound. George Fitzgerald was born in the right place and is part of a style that is very much in vogue. But a lot of people have tried, and few have made it. Fitzgerald has done it in just two years, since his debut on Hotflush (Scuba's label) with the hypnotic "The Let Down". His formula is not really much of a secret: melodic cushions and the warmth of house and garage, combined with rhythmic patterns that are closer to techno or dubstep. What sets him apart is that intangible ingredient, difficult to define, which we can agree to call "class"; a personal touch that is sprinkled over everything he does, whether it is maxis for labels like Aus and Hypercolour or choosing pearls for the catalogue of his own platform (ManMakeMusic), or sets of the highest quality and the highest levels of perfectionism.
